[Saba Sports News] Lando Norris recently directly addressed the accusation that McLaren had “added water to the tires,” calling it nonsense and a childish theory made by Red Bull under competitive pressure. After the Brazilian Grand Prix, there were rumors suggesting that Red Bull suspected McLaren was extending tire life in some way and sought further technical regulations from the FIA. In response to Red Bull’s allegations, Norris dismissed the claims in an interview, stating that as McLaren’s performance improved, the team faced more technical inspections and regulatory pressures, which he saw as a sign of success. He emphasized that if a team can make competitors come up with strange theories like “adding water to brake lines,” it means they are doing something right. He added, “If people can only attack you with rumors, that means you’re doing something really well.” In our view, Norris’ comments were not only a strong rebuttal to the accusations but also a demonstration of McLaren’s confidence and unity after its strong return.
