The first topic was Brown’s omission from the Olympics team, prompting laughter from the veteran as he joked about the media not giving him any time to settle in. His response brought smiles and laughter from the room.
“Welcome back!” someone joked.
Brown’s exclusion from Team USA has been a hot topic, especially after he suggested in July that it might have been influenced by Nike. USA Basketball’s Grant Hill even addressed the claim.
As a two-time All-Star and key player in the Celtics’ championship run, it’s unusual for someone of Brown’s caliber to be left off the roster. Even his teammate Jayson Tatum didn’t see much action during the Summer Games.
