[Saba Sports News] This week, a court in São Paulo, Brazil, announced that former Brazilian international Robinho would receive a 160-day reduction in his sentence, moving his release date from March 2033 to the second half of 2032. The 41-year-old Robinho earned this reduction by dedicating significant time to studying and working. He completed 600 hours of electronics courses in prison, learning to repair televisions and radios. Additionally, he participated in activities like reading and maintaining the prison garden.
In November of last year, the court had already announced a sentence reduction of 69 days for Robinho because he completed 11 courses while in prison, attended 464 hours of secondary education classes, and read five books. According to Brazilian media, the prison where Robinho is located offers various courses, including tile installation, masonry, electrical work, and car polishing, with inmates earning a day off their sentence for every three days they participate in classes.
The prison also features a futsal court where a tournament known as the “World Cup” is held every six months, with each team representing a different country. Furthermore, on days when the Brazilian national team plays, guards allow inmates to cease their work to watch live broadcasts of the matches.
