[Saba Sports News] Recently, Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney and host Kelly Somers discussed how football players celebrate Christmas on BBC’s “The Wayne Rooney Show” along with player-turned-host Dion Dublin and manager Sam Allardyce. The conversation quickly shifted to what they eat during the festivities. When host Somers asked Rooney what would be on his plate, he said, “There would be mushy peas, sweetcorn, carrots, and cabbage, and turkey. I don’t like roast potatoes, and there’s broccoli and cauliflower.”
In response, Somers mentioned that having mushy peas with the Christmas roast dinner could be a red flag, while Dion Dublin disagreed with this and another pairing. When Somers asked if it was appropriate not to have gravy, Rooney replied, “Not really; gravy just makes the food messy. I use vegetable stock instead! To be honest, I’m not a huge fan of the roast dinner. If we go out for a roast, I would choose smoked ham, eggs, and chips. I don’t really like Sunday roasts, but I will eat one on Christmas, but only my way.”
I wonder what fans think about this?
