[Saba Sports News] Recently retired F1 driver Nico Rosberg and his wife Vivian appeared on a talk show in Germany, discussing his former teammate Lewis Hamilton. Vivian revealed that Hamilton always sends Barbie dolls to their two daughters at Christmas. Rosberg added that both daughters are fans of Hamilton; every Christmas, there is a big box at their doorstep filled with gifts from Hamilton. At the same time, Rosberg jokingly stated that he wouldn’t let Hamilton inside; he must stay outside. Records show that Hamilton and Rosberg met in their youth. In 2000, Hamilton and Rosberg first teamed up to compete in the CIK-FIA European Karting Championships. At that time, Hamilton won the championship in the youth category, with Rosberg closely following. In 2013, the two childhood friends reunited in the Mercedes team, but on the track, there were no friends, only rivals. During the 2014 Monaco Grand Prix, Rosberg allegedly crashed on purpose to maintain his lead, causing a rift in their relationship. During the same year’s Hungarian Grand Prix, the team asked Hamilton to let Rosberg pass, but Hamilton refused. In 2016, their conflict escalated again during the first lap of the Spanish Grand Prix, resulting in a classic crash incident. At that time, Hamilton was competing with Rosberg. Due to Hamilton’s operational error, his car lost control, went off the track, and crashed into Rosberg. Ultimately, both were forced to retire. In pursuit of the world championship, they sacrificed their friendship. Regarding this, Rosberg stated he has no regrets. Fortunately, after Rosberg’s retirement, he and Hamilton reconciled.
