[Saba Sports News] According to UK media reports, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pape Sarr has donated his international break allowance for this month to help orphans in his home country, Senegal. The 22-year-old player decided to donate the bonuses from representing Senegal in two matches this September to the National Office for War Veterans and Victims (ONPN), a public institution dedicated to supporting orphans of military personnel and families of others who died in service to the nation. Sarr’s bonuses for the matches against Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo this month will be rounded up to 5 million CFA francs (approximately £6,600) and donated to the children of his homeland. Sarr stated: “These children need our support because they have lost the presence of their parents. I have made a commitment to them to do everything I can to ensure they have food and clothing. This is just a small gesture; there will be more actions in the future through my foundation. I hope this gesture can bring some temporary comfort to some of the children.” The Pape Sarr Foundation is dedicated to helping Senegalese youth, promoting education, sports, and healthcare for the next generation, and has established a partnership with the ONPN this year. Through his foundation, Sarr has visited orphanages, discussed key social and educational development issues with government officials, and ensured the distribution of food packages to impoverished families in the community where he spent his childhood.
