[Saba Sports News] Steph Curry might be on the shorter side by NBA standards, but when it comes to standing next to other legendary athletes, he still has the height advantage.
Following the Golden State Warriors’ 123-116 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night, Curry posed for a photo with soccer icon David Beckham, who was sitting courtside at Crypto.com Arena. The snapshot quickly went viral—mainly because Curry appeared noticeably taller than Beckham.
Curry is listed at 6-foot-2, while Beckham stands around 5-foot-11. Curry has built a Hall of Fame career at the point guard position, where agility and shooting are key, while Beckham, a world-class midfielder and winger, thrived in roles that didn’t demand towering height like those of strikers or center-backs.
Thursday’s moment was a cool full-circle exchange between two global stars. Just a day earlier, Curry attended an Inter Miami match—Beckham’s MLS club—as they faced LAFC in Los Angeles. Curry caught some heat from the local fans that night, but Beckham returned the favor with his own show of support at the Warriors game.
Even off the field, Beckham gives Curry something to chase. The former Manchester United star won six league titles and played professionally until age 38. Curry, now 37 and a four-time NBA champion, has made it clear he still has more left in the tank—and maybe more titles in sight.
