[Saba Sports News] Steph Curry and Jimmy Butler’s first game together had both stars raving about their chemistry.
The Golden State Warriors cruised to a 132-111 blowout win over the Chicago Bulls at the United Center, with Curry and Butler leading the way, combining for 59 points.
The two All-Stars thrived in completely different ways—Curry torched Chicago from deep, drilling eight three-pointers on his way to 34 points, while Butler took just one shot from beyond the arc, instead dominating the paint and earning 13 trips to the free-throw line.
Both players couldn’t help but notice how their contrasting styles fit together seamlessly.
“He’s like the exact opposite player of me, which is kind of funny,” Curry said. “I shoot 16 threes, he shot one. He got to the free throw line a lot. He’s dominating the paint, I’m dominating the perimeter. … It has the potential to be really fun.”
Butler echoed the sentiment, “They say opposites attract in life. I don’t think I could be a better complement to him and vice versa.”
Warriors fans couldn’t have asked for a better debut from their new dynamic duo. Golden State, once down by 24 points, unleashed a 56-15 second-half run to flip the game on its head—giving fans a glimpse of the potential this pairing has moving forward.
