[Saba Sports News] Watching Stephen Curry miss a three-point shot in the NBA is common, happening over 50% of the time, but it still feels surprising each time.
Known for hitting over 100 consecutive threes in practice and regarded as the greatest shooter ever, Curry couldn’t go 12/12 in a carnival three-point game that many fans believe is rigged. Their suspicions were confirmed when Curry himself went 5/12.
The main culprit behind the misses is the double-rim, which causes the ball to spin out more frequently unless it’s a perfect swish.
While some may find Curry’s 5/12 performance surprising, it’s still a respectable showing, especially considering many players struggle to shoot that well on regular rims.
Last season, Curry averaged 26.4 points and shot 40.8% on 11.8 three-point attempts per game.
