[Saba Sports News] According to the latest domestic media reports, the Badminton World Federation (BWF) is considering significant reforms in 2027, with the Super 1000 tournament becoming a focal point. It is reported that the future Super 1000 tournament will undergo major adjustments, extending the duration from 7 days to 11 days, with the prize money increasing from 1.45 million to 2 million. The editor believes that the previous tournament schedule was too tight, and many badminton stars have complained about the dense schedule. Extending the tournament period will give players more time to recover their strength, adjust their condition, reduce fatigue from continuous competition, and lower the risk of injury, helping them perform at higher levels and extend their careers. At the same time, a longer schedule gives event organizers more time for promotion and arranging more interactive activities, enhancing the event’s influence and commercial value. It also provides more opportunities for the media and fans to interact with players, further expanding the impact of badminton.
