[Saba Sports News] According to Sabasports, Troyes, a team under City Football Group, will return to Ligue 2 following Bordeaux’s bankruptcy. Troyes has been relegated for the past two seasons, finishing second to last in Ligue 1 in the 2022-23 season and 17th in Ligue 2 in the 2023-24 season. However, after Bordeaux’s bankruptcy, Ligue 2 is currently left with only 19 teams, and Troyes, being the highest-ranked team among the relegated teams from the previous season, will make a comeback to Ligue 2. Troyes has been part of City Football Group since September 2020, and they will begin their journey in the 2024-25 Ligue 2 season in two weeks, facing Guingamp as their opponents. In a statement regarding their return to Ligue 2, Troyes mentioned that the club’s budget for the entire Ligue 2 season has been approved by the French Professional Football League. The statement expressed, “We are assessing this decision and working towards building an ambitious team to represent Troyes with humility this season and strive for future sustainable development.”
