[Saba Sports News] Recently, Red Bull driver Yuki Tsunoda participated in an Apex Legends event at the Tokyo Game Show. Having not played the game for years, he admitted his guest appearance performance was quite poor. Tsunoda said he was invited to participate in this event organized by Red Bull’s headquarters in Tokyo. He frankly told the team that he hadn’t played the game for three years, so his skills would be rusty. As expected, he was completely outplayed by top professional gamers during the match, but he still found it a cool experience: “It was actually pretty cool because I used to watch these streamers on live streams and YouTube, and they were all there. Too bad I could barely do anything.” When asked if this experience made him part of Japan’s “otaku” community, Tsunoda skillfully avoided the topic, focusing instead on sharing his experience: “It was my first time competing against pro players; the skill gap was obvious. About the grapple operation—you probably thought my handling was terrible, right? Actually, the controller was broken during the test, really. The jump button wouldn’t work. If I get a new controller next time, I’ll play better.” However, Tsunoda also emphasized that despite his poor performance, he still enjoyed the process of competing alongside top players.
