[Saba Sports News] Tyrese Haliburton is stepping outside the virtual basketball realm for his latest gaming appearance — and into the wrestling ring.
The Indiana Pacers star will be featured as a playable character in the upcoming WWE 2K25 video game. Haliburton is part of the “Dunk & Destruction Pack,” a bonus content bundle teased as “coming soon” by the game’s official X account.
Haliburton shared his excitement about the crossover during a segment with WWE announcers Michael Cole and Pat McAfee.
“I’m really excited,” he said. “Obviously, I got the opportunity to come and be \[part of a WWE show at] the Garden. Experience that and get in the ring a little bit. I’m excited about being a playable character in the game. It’s going to be super cool.”
The “experience” he referred to happened during a June 2024 WWE event at Madison Square Garden, where Haliburton appeared as a heel character alongside wrestler Logan Paul. The two confronted LA Knight in the ring, only to be run off by Knight and a surprise ally — New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson, who came in wielding a steel chair.
The timing of Haliburton’s video game debut couldn’t be more perfect, as he and Brunson are set to face off in the Eastern Conference Finals — a year after Haliburton and the Pacers eliminated the Knicks in the semifinals.
Now that Haliburton is confirmed for WWE 2K25, fans are already speculating that Brunson might not be far behind.
