[Saba Sports News] Former NBA star Tyson Chandler recently shared an intriguing story involving pop sensation Justin Bieber. During a guest appearance on the ‘All The Smoke’ podcast, Chandler revealed how he allowed Bieber to be baptized in his New York City apartment’s bathtub. The unusual situation arose when Bieber, seeking a fresh start amid legal troubles, had a pastor visit Chandler’s apartment for an impromptu baptism.
“I got close to Justin a couple of years before that. I was coming from a game, and they asked me to come over to the crib. When I got there, he had gone through some things and had a pastor come over. So we were all just there, chilling, and then he said he wanted to get baptized that night.”
“I was in an apartment at the time, in a high-rise, and I called the guy who had the key to the gym with a pool, but he didn’t get back to me. So I told Justin that I couldn’t get the pool. However, the pastor suggested we use my bathtub, so I allowed them to use it. And then he left his underwear in my daughter’s room.”
Despite the unconventional circumstances, Chandler’s friendship with Bieber highlighted the support he provided to the young celebrity during challenging times. Bieber’s early years in the spotlight were marked by controversy, but Chandler was one of the individuals who helped him navigate those difficulties.
