[Saba Sports News] According to UK media reports, pubs in the UK may stay open until the early morning hours during next year’s World Cup. The 2026 World Cup will be held in the USA, Mexico, and Canada, with kick-off times expected at 17:00, 20:00, 23:00, and 02:00 UK time. The latter two time slots pose a challenge for UK pubs, as they are typically only permitted to operate until 23:00 from Sunday to Thursday, and until 00:00 or 00:30 on Fridays and Saturdays. While it’s not uncommon for pubs to receive special exemptions under certain circumstances, whether this will happen for next year’s World Cup remains to be seen. The kick-off times for next year’s World Cup align with those of this year’s Club World Cup, which faced issues with high temperatures. Consequently, next year’s World Cup’s key matches are scheduled for later time slots to protect player health. For example, matches kicking off at 17:00 and 20:00 UK time are prime time for European TV audiences, but the first corresponds to noon on the US East Coast, and the second to noon on the US West Coast. What do fans think about this?
