[Saba Sports News] During the Nurburgring Endurance Series event, Max Verstappen offered important advice to young drivers. The Red Bull Racing star urged them to remain open to other racing series, including endurance racing. In an interview with the media, Verstappen emphasized that young drivers need to keep an open mind about motorsports beyond Formula 1. The Dutch driver also pointed out that there are many opportunities for young drivers outside the pinnacle of motorsport, F1. Verstappen stated: “It all depends on your own mindset as a driver. If your mindset is solely focused on F1 and you don’t want to change that perspective, it’s like talking to a brick wall. Sometimes, with drivers I’m close to, they all dream of making it to F1, but I always advise them to keep other possibilities open, just in case (they don’t make it to F1). Because even if you’re good enough, not everyone gets the opportunity. I also think there are many opportunities in endurance racing to build a successful career. Blindly focusing only on F1 can be risky at times.” The four-time F1 world champion also mentioned that persuading drivers to consider other racing series can be somewhat difficult. However, Verstappen reiterated that he believes drivers often fall in love with endurance racing after trying out cars in such series.
