[Saba Sports News] Before the main race of the Singapore F1 Grand Prix, the FIA imposed a penalty on Red Bull driver Max Verstappen, requiring him to participate in a one-day community service event due to his violation of FIA’s swearing ban during a press conference. This punishment left Verstappen quite unhappy. After finishing second in the Singapore F1 Grand Prix, Verstappen continued to be tight-lipped in the post-race press conference, stating he would continue to give interviews outside the media room. During this time, Verstappen mentioned that everyone is pushing their limits both on and off the track. However, if he has to deal with these stupid issues, he might just stop participating in this sport altogether. Clearly, Verstappen is hinting that the swearing ban could lead to his early retirement. Following the FIA’s penalty announcement, several F1 drivers, including Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris, expressed their support for Verstappen, stating that drivers have the right to express their opinions, even if it includes swearing. In my opinion, Verstappen’s behavior challenges the FIA’s limits of tolerance; as an F1 world champion, he is a role model for teenagers and should not act freely when speaking or acting.
