[Saba Sports News] Max Verstappen and Lando Norris were once good friends, but their current relationship could be described as tense. After Verstappen secured the driver’s championship early at the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, a curious reporter asked him if he would have won the championship driving for Ferrari, McLaren, or Mercedes. Verstappen confidently stated that if he were driving for McLaren, he might have won even sooner; if he were in a Ferrari, it would be about the same time; but if he were in a Mercedes, it might be a bit more challenging. Implicitly, Verstappen was suggesting that Norris’s driving ability is not on par with his own, as he managed to beat Norris, who had a better-performing car, in a slower Red Bull. This comment upset Norris, who confronted his former friend during the media conference at the F1 Qatar Grand Prix, suggesting that Verstappen would be better suited as a comedian.
