[Saba Sports News] Following the F1 Australian
Grand Prix, Max Verstappen, the driver for Red Bull Racing, was interviewed by
the media. During the interview, Verstappen was asked about his plans for the
future. In response, he stated that he would only contemplate his future once
his current contract with the team is completed, emphasizing that he is
uncertain about what lies ahead. Verstappen mentioned, “I don’t know what
will happen after 2028. Whether I will continue in F1 or if the contract will
be extended, it’s still unknown.” This stance implies that Verstappen may
not be able to replace Hamilton at Mercedes-Benz, as Hamilton is set to depart
from the team at the end of the season. Verstappen has been with Red Bull
Racing for eight seasons already, and if he successfully fulfills his contract,
he will have been driving for them for a total of 14 years. Additionally, it is
noteworthy that Verstappen’s contract with Red Bull is for a total of seven
years, making it the longest driver contract in F1 history. This extended
commitment is a testament to Verstappen’s remarkable achievements and Red Bull
Racing’s determination to retain their star driver, especially in light of the
FIA’s budget cap regulations.
