According to Guangdong Television reports, Wang Zhengming was the 13th torchbearer in the Shenzhen leg of the 15th National Games torch relay, identified as a former badminton world champion and an associate professor at the School of Sports and Arts of Shenzhen Technology University. Data shows that in 2013, Wang Zhengming was selected for the Chinese team’s Sudirman Cup squad and won the championship with the Chinese team. The content that sparked debate among fans mainly revolves around his love life. Back when Wang Zhengming was still in the Chinese national team, an emotional entanglement with his senior, Jiang Yanjiao, left him with a poor reputation among fans. The rumor of this four-year age gap romance between Wang Zhengming and Jiang Yanjiao was first exposed by Hong Kong media in October 2010. Later, Jiang Yanjiao publicly shared photos of couple T-shirts on social media, showed off Qixi Festival gifts, and “sent messages” confessing to Wang Zhengming. Until one day in 2012, Jiang Yanjiao suddenly publicly accused Wang Zhengming of toying with her feelings and being two-timing.
