[Saba Sports News] The Golden State Warriors are giving a notable player a chance at redemption.
Shams Charania of The Athletic reported Wednesday that free agent forward Kevin Knox has signed a one-year deal with the Warriors, joining them for training camp.
Knox, now 25, has largely been labeled a draft bust after being picked No. 9 overall by the New York Knicks in 2018, ahead of players like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Mikal Bridges, and Michael Porter Jr. Though he had a promising rookie season, averaging 12.8 points and 4.5 rebounds, his development stalled, and the Knicks traded him in 2022.
Since then, Knox has bounced around three NBA teams and had stints in the G League. Recently, he even faced criticism for still playing in the 2024 NBA Summer League.
Despite the setbacks, Knox is staying persistent, and now he’ll have a fresh opportunity with the Warriors, who could use another forward alongside Draymond Green, Andrew Wiggins, Jonathan Kuminga, and Kyle Anderson.
