[Saba Sports News] Since joining Ferrari, Lewis Hamilton has been going through a difficult adjustment period. In response, Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff stated that Hamilton is still adjusting to the new environment and needs time, while denying directly comparisons between Hamilton and Andrea Kimi Antonelli. During Hamilton’s time at Mercedes, he won six F1 World Championship titles, creating an era of glory for the Silver Arrows. In the 2025 season, he joined Ferrari to chase a record eighth world title. However, so far, his performance has not met expectations. In the first nine races, Hamilton has yet to stand on the podium, with all three podium finishes by the Ferrari team coming from his teammate Charles Leclerc. Despite this, Wolff emphasized that Hamilton’s victory in the Sprint Race at the Chinese Grand Prix still demonstrated his strength. Meanwhile, 18-year-old Italian driver Antonelli replaced Hamilton as the Mercedes rookie, rapidly growing in F1. Wolff believes Antonelli’s progress is satisfactory, despite facing technical issues or accidents that led to retirement in some races like Monaco and Spain, but his overall speed and potential are commendable. Currently, he ranks seventh in the drivers’ standings with 48 points, just one place behind Hamilton. For this, Wolff reminded fans not to directly compare the two drivers in completely different situations.
