[Saba Sports News] Guangdong Sports Channel conducted an exclusive interview with Xie Yonglin, who will represent Hitech GP in the FIA F3 Championship for the 2025 season. In the interview, Xie mentioned that he has been thinking about progressing up the ranks since he was karting and is now gradually moving up as planned, with his ultimate goal being to compete in F1. However, one must first perform well in F3 to move on. All drivers have gone through this process; brand teams only select drivers who perform well. In F3, two-thirds of the drivers will be eliminated, leaving only one-third with a chance to advance to F2. When asked if he would follow the same path as China’s first F1 driver Zhou Guanyu, Xie replied that each driver’s journey to F1 is different and one cannot completely copy Zhou’s route; everyone has to forge their own path. If all goes well, he hopes to finish F3 this year and move up to F2 next year; if he performs well in F2, there is hope to advance to F1. If he struggles a bit in F3 this year, he would run another year in F3 before moving on to F2.
