Although the Chinese team did not win the championship on home soil, the excellent performance of 17-year-old Xu Wenjing has brought great comfort to fans, as she is seen as the future leader of Chinese women’s singles badminton. It is reported that the Chinese team competed in five matches in this Asian Championship, with women’s singles being the only category to achieve a perfect record. Among them, Olympic champion Chen Yufei won two matches, while Xu Wenjing won three. Notably, in the semifinals and finals, Chen Yufei was unable to participate due to illness, and the coaching staff intended to develop young players, so Xu Wenjing was entrusted with significant responsibilities. In the semifinals against Japan’s world-ranked seventh player Tomoka Miyazaki, and in the finals against world-ranked 14th Indonesian player Putri Kusuma Wardani, Xu Wenjing won both matches in straight sets, leaving a strong impression on fans.
