[Saba Sports News] According to Spanish media reports, Lamine Yamal’s smoking celebration gesture was a mockery of Hector Fort’s missed shot. In Barcelona’s 4-1 victory over Girona, Yamal approached Fort after the match and made a smoking gesture, taking a puff himself before offering it to Fort. Additionally, on the bench, Yamal also made a smoking gesture next to Robert Lewandowski. Reports indicate that this was Yamal mocking Fort. Around the 65th minute of the match, with Barcelona leading 4-0, Fort attempted a long-range shot that went wide in an effort to show off. This miss left Lewandowski incredulous, which Yamal remembered. On the bench, Yamal and Lewandowski joked about it and teased Fort after the match. The smoking gesture is a term in football used to indicate that someone’s action was somewhat selfish. Therefore, when Yamal offered “the smoke” to Fort, Fort took a big puff in return, continuing the jest; it was just a joke among friends.
