[Saba Sports News] Zheng Siwei, the mixed doubles champion at the Paris Olympics, recently shared several vlogs on his personal social media platform, joking that he has become a signing machine since returning home. It turns out that many of Zheng’s relatives and friends are his fans and want his signed photos. Therefore, the first thing Zheng did when he got home was sign autographs; his parents and grandmother prepared many photos and clothes for him to sign. Zheng revealed that three years ago, when he missed out on the mixed doubles gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics, his grandmother made him a “pure gold” medal to make up for his regret. After winning the gold medal in Paris, he wants to repay his grandmother’s love and trust with this real Olympic gold medal. Regarding future plans, Zheng stated that he will gradually reduce participation in international events but will compete in the BWF World Tour Finals held in Hangzhou at the end of this year and will definitely participate in next year’s National Games. Whether he will compete in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics remains uncertain. Some fans believe that Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong have already achieved a complete Grand Slam in mixed doubles badminton, winning all possible championships, so they may not have further ambitions and might retire next year.
