[Saba Sports News] Having been sidelined as an Impact Player without a chance to play due to Kolkata Knight Riders’ top order brilliance against Royal Challengers Bangalore, 18-year-old Angkrish Raghuvanshi seized his opportunity in the game against Delhi Capitals.
Entering the fray at number 3 following Phil Salt’s dismissal in the fifth over, Raghuvanshi displayed remarkable skill and composure over his nearly nine-over innings. Partnering with Sunil Narine, he aggressively scored 54 runs off 27 balls, including five fours and three sixes, injecting momentum into KKR’s innings.
In a post-match interview shared on the IPL’s official account, Raghuvanshi attributed significant influence to his long-time coach and KKR’s assistant coach, Abhishek Nayar. He credited Nayar for his success and the development of his reverse sweep shot, expressing gratitude towards his coach, teammates, and support staff.
Angkrish expressed a unique ambition to represent India in cricket, aiming to do so in a way that sets him apart from others. He aspires to be recognized for his distinctiveness in wearing the Indian jersey, a dream he has harbored since childhood.
