The Rock, while performing a song that included playful insults aimed at WWE stars Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins, also took a surprising swipe at NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies guard, Ja Morant. The lyrics mocking Rollins indirectly targeted Morant, mentioning him in a context of waving a gun, a nod to his past controversies involving firearms on social media.
“You’re simply an embarrassment, son,” The Rock sang of Rollins. “Just like Ja Morant when he’s waving a gun.”
Despite the barb, The Rock tempered his roast with a lighthearted “I love you Ja!” Ja Morant responded on social media platform X, using a meme of 50 Cent to express his bemusement at the dig.
The reference points to Morant’s challenging year, marred by suspensions and an early season end due to a shoulder injury, yet The Rock’s comment appears to be more playful than malicious, reflecting his unexpected connections within the NBA community.
