[Saba Sports News] Audi are planning to make
their entry into Formula 1 in 2026. The company is currently engaging in active
preparations for various aspects of their F1 venture, with a key focus being on
assembling their driver lineup. According to media reports, Audi has shown
interest in Esteban Ocon, the leading driver of the Alpine Team. Audi has long
held a positive view of the French racing driver’s experience. Ocon joined the
Alpine team in 2021 and achieved his first F1 career championship at the 2021
Hungarian Grand Prix. Audi has already established a Formula racing factory in
Neuburg, Germany, and has made significant progress in expanding personnel and
infrastructure. It is at this facility that Audi Sport will develop power units
for F1 in the future. In addition to supplying power units, Audi plans to
acquire the Sauber team and return to F1 as a factory team, which is an
exciting prospect.
