“The praise for Cristiano Ronaldo is due because he has made history not only for Portugal but also for world football, he has done many extraordinary things that will probably never be repeated – I hope for the sake of football that they will be repeated, but I don’t think it will be possible,” Bruno Fernandes said.

“I hope one day there will be another Cristiano Ronaldo in Portugal, but I don’t think it is possible. All Portuguese people should enjoy Cristiano Ronaldo and what he can give us. Although people often say: ‘Ah, he’s not like he used to be’. All players get older and have to adapt to that process, but Ronaldo is different because, although he is always adapting, he continues to do what he does best – score goals.”
