[Saba Sports News] The entrepreneurial team from Srinagar, comprising college students Hamad and Saad Tramboo, made a significant impact on ‘Shark Tank India’ with their innovative presentation. The duo, studying BBA, showcased their Srinagar-based venture, ‘Trampoo Sports’, securing a substantial investment of Rs 30 lakh from two leading investors for a three percent share in their business. They introduced their Kashmir Willow bats, leveraging local resources and restrictions on the export of raw materials to carve a niche in the Indian market.
“We’re offering top-quality Kashmir willow bats, aiming to capitalize on the domestic market, thanks to the export restrictions. Are you ready to partner with us and hit a six?” Saad Tramboo pitched to the investors on the show.
They highlighted their unique approach, focusing on lightweight designs and being the sole proprietor of a seasoning plant among 300 bat manufacturers in Kashmir. They also credited Instagram for playing a pivotal role in their marketing success, driving 70% of their online sales.
“Our bats are distinguished by a special seasoning process and feature hard-pressed construction with Singapore cane handles for better shock absorption, differentiating them from conventional bats,” they shared with the sharks.
The investment journey saw initial offers from Vineeta and Anupam for Rs 30 lakhs at 10% equity, and Ritesh with the same monetary offer but for four percent equity. The negotiation heated up, ultimately leading to Peyush Bansal of Lenskart and Aman Gupta of BOAT clinching the deal, offering Rs 30 lakh for a four percent stake in Trampoo Sports.
