[Saba Sports News] Lee Zii Jia, Malaysia’s 11th-ranked men’s singles
badminton player, is currently enjoying the Christmas and New Year holidays. In
a recent interview with the media, he reflected on the 2023 season and
expressed his belief in qualifying for the Paris Olympics. Lee mentioned that
his performance during the 2023 season was inconsistent due to psychological
pressure. The expectations he had for himself, as well as the expectations from
his fans, had an intangible impact to some extent. These are challenges that
professional players cannot avoid, as all players go through similar
experiences. Lee is committed to overcoming this predicament and hopes to
achieve it one day. In the upcoming 2024 season, he remains focused on his
performance in every game. Currently, he is preparing for the Malaysia Open and
aims to win the championship on home soil. With a few months left until the end
of the Olympic points competition next year, Lee believes that as long as his
performance remains stable, qualifying for the Paris Olympics will not be an
issue. He hopes to demonstrate a more mature version of himself by then.
