[Saba Sports News] Returning India T20I captain Rohit Sharma left the ground livid as his opening partner Shubman Gill caused a run-out in the first over of the chase.
In the first T20I of the ongoing series between India and Afghanistan, the hosts were given a target of 159 runs in Mohali.
All the eyes were on Rohit, who made his comeback to T20Is after 14 months, when the second innings started. However, fans’ excitement was short-lived as the 36-year-old got dismissed in an unfortunate manner via a run-out.
On the second ball of the first over, Rohit crunched the ball to the right of the mid-off fielder, who dived to save a boundary. Rohit after playing the shot ran for a single and even reached the non-striker’s end, where Shubman kept on watching the ball, leading to his skipper sacrificing his wicket.
