[Saba Sports News] The Los Angeles Lakers have their next head coach lined up, and it’s likely to be J.J. Redick. The former NBA veteran appeared on the “Gojo and Golic” show on Wednesday and addressed a recent report naming him as the leading candidate for the job, with an announcement expected after the season.
“My focus is on the NBA Finals. In terms of [the report], that will be addressed once the season is over. I’ll just say that,” Redick said.
Shams Charania, who reported the news, often receives insider information about the Lakers, as he shares a talent agency with LeBron James. Between Charania’s report and Redick’s comments, it seems almost certain that Redick will be the next Lakers head coach.
Redick has previously interviewed for NBA head coaching positions despite lacking coaching experience, which apparently is not a concern for James or the Lakers.
