[Saba Sports News] The renowned football equipment website Footy Headlines has leaked the official match balls for the 2026-27 UEFA Champions League and Women’s Champions League. The new Champions League ball retains the iconic white star panels, while the surrounding hexagonal sections feature eye-catching multicoloured graphics. Vibrant strokes of bright blue, neon green, vivid yellow and pink are blended with halftone dot patterns, lending the ball outstanding dynamic aesthetics on the pitch. A striking bright pink adidas logo sits at the centre of the ball, showcasing a bold and avant-garde design philosophy. The Women’s Champions League ball takes pure white as its base colour, creating a sharp contrast with metallic purple and vivid orange. Glossy thick metallic purple lines trace the edges of the star panels, inside which lies a bright orange-to-yellow gradient. Silver-grey detailing adorns the seams between panels and star outlines, while the adidas and Women’s Champions League logos are rendered in crisp black. It is reported that the two official UEFA Champions League match balls went on general release on 21 July 2026. Notably, as Nike will take over the Champions League kit supply deal starting from the 2027-28 season, this will most likely be the final match ball designed by adidas for the group stage of the competition.
Furthermore, fan reactions have been sharply divided since leaked images of the ball surfaced. Some supporters argue the colour palette looks sophisticated with street-art graffiti vibes, praising the innovative design. However, plenty of other fans feel the design is overly garish, with some even mocking it as tacky. Others have already voiced concerns over how the match balls will look once Nike takes over the supply contract.
