[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, the Danish men’s football team has refused a salary increase, opting instead for equal pay and conditions with the women’s team. The Danish Players Union and the Danish Football Association have now signed a new agreement to this effect. The head of the Danish Players Union stated: “When we presented this plan to the Football Association, they recognized it as a fair offer, leading to smooth and swift negotiations. We are all delighted to have signed this agreement before the start of Euro 2024. The women’s team is thrilled that the men’s team has come to their support. However, there is consensus that the funding should not come from the men’s association but rather from negotiations with the Danish Football Association, which are scheduled to commence after this summer.” As per the agreement, Danish national team players, both men and women, will receive the same basic compensation when representing their country. Furthermore, a joint base will be established for the men’s, women’s, and youth teams to utilize. The plan also includes enhanced insurance limits for the women’s team (by 50%) and the U21 men’s team (by 40%), while the insurance limits for the men’s team have been reduced by 15%.
