[Saba Sports News] The Golden State Warriors are set to slow down next season.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Warriors acquired Kyle Anderson from the Minnesota Timberwolves via sign-and-trade on Tuesday. Anderson’s contract is reportedly worth $27 million over three years. In return, the Timberwolves received a future second-round pick swap and cash considerations.
Nicknamed “slow-mo” since his UCLA days, Anderson was a key player for the Timberwolves over the last two seasons. The versatile 6’9″ forward filled various roles, starting 56 games due to frontcourt injuries and serving as a playmaker off the bench.
Anderson averaged 7.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game in Minnesota, ranking third on the team in assists both years and even surpassing Anthony Edwards in assists during the 2022-23 season.
With the Warriors’ recent loss of veterans, Anderson could play a significant role off the bench or as an occasional starter. His offensive skills are similar to Draymond Green’s, potentially making him an ideal fit alongside Steph Curry in the Warriors’ rotation.
