(SabaSports) Dwyane Wade appeared on NBC to talk about the prospects of the U.S. men’s basketball team competing for gold at the Paris Olympics.
“The U.S. men’s basketball team has respected the rest of the world since we won the bronze medal in 2004,” Wade said. Since then, the level of global basketball has improved every year, and every country has a chance. Serbia, France, Canada and Germany could make a comeback in four years’ time. Sixty-eight NBA players are competing in the Olympics this year, and there could be more in four years. Even though basketball is an American sport and we continue to dominate, it’s no longer easy to compete for gold. It’s not 1992 anymore and everyone needs to forget the glories of the past.”
