[Saba Sports News] Much of how the Los Angeles Lakers fare in 2024-25 will depend on how well they complement. The Lakers entered the 2024 offseason without making a blockbuster trade or signing, prompting speculation. In response, US media Fadeaway World suggested the Lakers could consider a three-way deal involving Jonas Valančiūnas, Saddiq Bey and Corey Kispert to boost the team’s competitiveness.

Details of the transaction:
The Lakers will get: Jonas Valanciunas, Sadiq Bay, Corey Kispert
The Pistons will get: Rui Hachimura, a 2025 second-round draft pick
The Wizards will get: Tim Hardaway Jr., Jalen Hood-Schifino, Maxwell Lewis, a 2029 first-round pick and a 2030 second-round pick.
A big bet on the Lakers
The deal, while feasible, hinges on whether the Lakers are willing to give up eight bases and a future high draft pick. Hachimura drew interest from a number of teams for his defense of Denver center Nikola Jokić, so his departure will have an impact on the Lakers.
The Lakers are desperate to find a replacement for Anthony Davis and a player capable of starting at center. Valanciunas could fill in for Davis as the starting center, while Sadiq Bay could serve as Davis’ backup, adding depth and rotation to the Lakers’ interior.
