[Saba Sports News] Magic Johnson has some advice for Bronny James.
During an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Thursday, Johnson suggested that Bronny should spend the upcoming NBA season in the G League to develop his game. Johnson said, “If I were Bronny, I’d tell my dad, ‘let me play in the G League all season to get playing time and grow.’ He’s got great talent, but he needs to refine his skills before being ready for NBA minutes.”
When asked if he thought LeBron James was pushing for Bronny to join him on the Lakers, Johnson said he wasn’t sure. His advice comes from observing Bronny’s game, noting that while his defense is strong, his offensive game still needs work.
Though Johnson believes G League time would benefit Bronny, the young guard may still start the season with the Lakers after being drafted in the second round, following just one season at USC.
