[Saba Sports News] The New York Knicks recently acquired Karl-Anthony Towns, and he’s quickly making his presence known in New York. He was spotted at Game 2 of the ALDS between the Royals and Yankees and made his preseason debut against the Hornets on Sunday, scoring ten points in just the first half.
Towns and Jalen Brunson offered a preview of their on-court chemistry, with Brunson adding 12 points and three assists in the Knicks’ narrow 111-109 win.
Towns, who also grabbed four rebounds, expressed excitement about finally wearing a Knicks jersey, saying, “Finally getting to put a Knicks jersey on and playing 5 on 5, that was really cool.” Brunson is confident their chemistry will develop with time, emphasizing their shared goal of winning.
Coach Tom Thibodeau plans to give Towns and Brunson preseason reps together to prepare for the upcoming season, noting, “They need time obviously, so I wanted them to get their feet wet.”
After nine years in the league, Towns is embracing his fresh start with the Knicks, following a strong season with a Conference Finals appearance.
