[Saba Sports News] A new report offers an update on how long Zion Williamson could be sidelined for the New Orleans Pelicans.
During an appearance on ESPN’s *NBA Today*, Shams Charania shared that the Pelicans expect Williamson to be out for 4-to-6 weeks due to a hamstring injury. However, the timeline is flexible, as his return will depend on how well he responds to rehab.
“The Pelicans are preparing for him to miss around 4-to-6 weeks, but his return hinges on the rehab process,” Charania explained. “The team has labeled him out indefinitely, given the unpredictability of his recovery.”
Williamson sustained the injury last week, and with a history of rehab challenges, the Pelicans are approaching his recovery cautiously.
This injury couldn’t come at a worse time, as the Pelicans, already struggling with a 3-7 start, are also missing three other starters, including a key offseason acquisition. For New Orleans, things may get tougher before they improve.
