[Saba Sports News] According to reports from Spain, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez will propose a new management model for the club at the members’ assembly, planning for the club’s foundation to hold 51% of the shares and members to hold 49%, in order to protect the club from external threats. Reports indicate that Real Madrid executives recently held an internal meeting about the new management model, asking attendees to turn off their phones and leave them outside the meeting room to ensure information confidentiality. Currently, Real Madrid has established two entities, one responsible for the operation of the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium and another for sports facilities. According to the new Sports Law that came into effect on December 30, 2022, professional competitions are only allowed to participate in the form of sports clubs or sports joint-stock companies. Unlike previous regulations, the new law no longer mandates that clubs promoted to professional leagues convert into sports joint-stock companies. It is reported that Florentino’s proposed model for Real Madrid is for the club foundation to hold 51% of the shares and members to hold 49%. He hopes to protect the club from external threats in this way. It remains to be seen what Real Madrid fans think of this proposal.
