[Saba Sports News] Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has engaged former India bowling coach Bharat Arun, who played a key role in shaping India’s strong pace attack under head coach Ravi Shastri, as part of their initiative to enhance the training of local coaches and support staff.
The SLC aims to upgrade the skills and competencies of their coaches, trainers, and physiotherapists through advanced training programs involving top international cricket talents, as confirmed after their executive committee meeting.
Additionally, the SLC has brought in Jonty Rhodes, a renowned former South African cricketer and fielding expert, along with experienced physiotherapist Alex Kountouri, who previously worked with the Sri Lankan national team.
The board is optimistic about the lifting of its suspension following a meeting between ICC CEO Geoff Allardice, Sri Lanka’s President Ranil Wickremesinghe, and Sports Minister Harin Fernando.
Sri Lanka’s cricket team has recently had a successful start to the new season, securing victories in both ODI and T20I series against Zimbabwe.
