[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, the European Club Association (ECA) has dismissed the latest proposal to restart the European Super League, deeming it a destructive movement led by self-serving separatist clubs. The ECA represents hundreds of European football clubs, including Liverpool, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich. Sky News obtained a memo distributed to the association’s board by its chairman, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who accused the architects of the rebranded “Unity League” of being extremely eager for exposure. This strongly worded letter has not been publicly released, but it underscores the profound rifts that still exist among the elite of European football, as well as the challenges faced by the A22 group behind the new project in launching a competitive event. Al-Khelaifi labeled A22 as “a consulting company working for Real Madrid,” adding, “This is the third Christmas where completely unrepresentative management consultants and self-serving separatist clubs are trying to divide European and global football. Each time, it’s a slightly adjusted and renamed project, but it’s always for the same motives, purely for their own interests.”
