[Saba Sports News] Goga Bitadze was ejected Monday night after a heated exchange with Kristaps Porzingis during the Orlando Magic’s 108-104 victory over the Boston Celtics.
The altercation occurred with 3:36 left in the fourth quarter as the Magic led 103-93. Bitadze and teammate Jalen Suggs had just entered the game when a foul call involving Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Derrick White sparked tension.
As Porzingis argued with Suggs, Bitadze intervened, appearing to grab at Porzingis’ throat before the situation was diffused. Suggs even shoved Porzingis away during the scuffle.
In a humorous twist, Bitadze began taunting Porzingis under the mistaken impression that the Celtics big man had been ejected. Instead, it was Bitadze who was tossed. Porzingis and Suggs both received technical fouls, but only Bitadze faced the harsher penalty.
Before his ejection, Bitadze had recorded 8 points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 2 steals. This isn’t the first time Bitadze has been involved in an unusual incident, adding another chapter to his eventful career.
