[Saba Sports News] On January 1 this year, Jurgen Klopp officially joined the Red Bull Group, but some German fans strongly oppose his decision. Klopp agreed to take on the role of Global Football Director for Red Bull in October 2024 and has now officially started his position. He wants to prove that he is not only an excellent coach but can also succeed in behind-the-scenes work. In the coming period, Klopp will be busy visiting Red Bull’s headquarters and various clubs under the group in Austria, Germany, Brazil, and the United States. Meanwhile, Klopp has faced criticism from some German fans for joining Red Bull, as they believe that RB Leipzig has broken traditions and deprived fans of many rights since the takeover. Klopp is seen as a guardian of traditional football values among German fans, and he has previously opposed Red Bull’s methods of running clubs. Mainz fans displayed a banner against Klopp in October 2024, reading: “Have you forgotten everything we gave you?” Last month, when Klopp attended a RB Leipzig match, supporters of Holstein Kiel also displayed a banner opposing him, stating “The Grave Digger of German Football.”
