[Saba Sports News] The Phoenix Suns are reportedly making significant changes to their starting lineup as they endure their most challenging stretch of the season.
On Saturday, the Suns suffered a crushing 126-108 defeat to the Indiana Pacers at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, dropping their record to a disappointing 15-18.
In response, the team is reportedly benching starters Bradley Beal and Jusuf Nurkic. According to NBA insider Chris Haynes, center Mason Plumlee and rookie Ryan Dunn will step into the starting roles.
Haynes also revealed growing tension within the Suns’ locker room, as players are becoming increasingly frustrated with head coach Mike Budenholzer’s strategies and rotations. The decision to bench Beal and Nurkic may intensify trade speculation surrounding the two players.
The Suns began the 2024-25 season strong, posting a 9-2 record in the opening weeks and appearing to have found their groove after last year’s disappointing finish. However, they have since lost 16 of their last 22 games, struggling to find consistency and cohesion.
The team’s frustrations have spilled onto the court, with multiple players involved in recent altercations during games—a symptom of mounting pressure and disappointment.
This lineup overhaul signals Phoenix’s effort to halt their downward spiral and regain momentum before their season slips further out of reach.
