[Saba Sports News] A young Dallas Mavericks fan experienced an unfortunate courtside moment on Saturday when he was struck in the face by a misfired pass from Kyrie Irving.
Irving attempted a crosscourt pass with just over four minutes remaining in the second quarter at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.
However, the ball sailed between two Mavericks players and into the first row, hitting a kid wearing a Mavericks hat square in the face.
The young fan tried to shake it off, but his nose was visibly bleeding. Despite the incident, Irving led the Mavericks with 22 points in their 122-107 loss to their opponent.
Saturday’s game delivered more bad news for Dallas. Another key player suffered a significant injury, adding to the team’s mounting health concerns. This setback comes on the heels of center Dereck Lively II being diagnosed with a serious foot injury.
Additionally, star Luka Doncic has been sidelined for the last 16 games due to an aggravated calf injury, leaving the Mavericks struggling to find consistency.
Having lost six of their last eight games, Dallas now holds a 24-22 record and has slipped out of the top six in the Western Conference standings.
