[Saba Sports News] Giannis Antetokounmpo remains sidelined with a calf injury, and it looks like the Milwaukee Bucks will be without their star for a while longer.
According to multiple reports, Antetokounmpo will be out through the NBA All-Star break. Chris Haynes reports that Giannis is expected to miss 2-3 weeks after sustaining the calf strain before Milwaukee’s game against the Charlotte Hornets last Wednesday.
Before the injury, Giannis had already sat out the Bucks’ previous game against the Oklahoma City Thunder for rest. Now, he won’t be participating in the NBA All-Star Game on Feb. 16.
The Bucks, who struggled early in the season before finding their rhythm, are now in the midst of another rough patch, losing five of their last six games. With Giannis sidelined for several more matchups, things won’t get any easier for Doc Rivers’ squad.
So far this season, Antetokounmpo has missed nine games, with the Bucks going 4-5 in his absence. Despite the setback, the two-time MVP has been putting up monster numbers, averaging 31.8 points and 12.2 rebounds per game.
